Our Harvest Service on Sunday last was led by Rev John Nockels who spoke about the true meaning of Harvest and all that it entails. Not only giving thanks to God our Creator and Sustainer, but in our gratitude helping one another, especially the Widows, the Foreigners and the Orphans.
Most of the gifts were donated to FairFrome for the Food Bank and were gratefully accepted by their Treasurer, Mrs Linda Wynne, who spoke briefly on the work of the Food Bank. Fresh produce was distributed to elderly friends and the beautiful flowers kindly provided by Welshmill Allotment holders were distributed to Mrs Wynne, ladies at the Blue House and ladies of the Church.
The offertory, for the Rook Lane Sick Man’s Friend Society was over £55
